Soma - our living body
Yoga - the union of body, mind and spirit
Somatic yoga is a gentle, mindful movement practice coordinated with breath that connects the body with the brain through the nervous system.
The healing practice of somatic yoga rewires the brain, informing muscles to release and relax and to function as they should.
Somatic yoga uses a technique called Pandiculation to release muscle tension. Pandiculation focuses on the contraction of muscles, and a slow controlled release and relaxation. Pandiculation releases muscular tension that may have been caused by trauma.
Through awareness we learn about our body, what it needs and doesn't need, and what doesn't serve us.
Gentle movements help release muscular tension and patterns that contribute to chronic pain conditions.
Calm your nervous system and find deep relaxation through mindful, somatic awareness.
Restore natural, fluid movement patterns and increase your range of motion comfortably.
Balance your autonomic nervous system for better overall health and well-being.

Hear from those who have experienced the healing power of Somatic Yoga
"I just love your class so much, Jeannine. And even when I am in pain, I just am drawn to be there. It's not like pushing myself at all. It is so much more than just a yoga class, it's the somatic, the people in the class, the beautiful energy, the laughter, and most of all you. Lots of love."
"Jeannine, sweet somatic yoga master, you have taught me much about yoga and I am able to enjoy my practice at home too. Soothe my sore muscles. You are such a wonderful teacher. You also taught me to honour my body and to listen. I am very grateful. I think it's the most important part of yoga."
"I have noticed a difference since the change to somatic. I am much more aware of my body, especially the problem areas, and what to do about them. I am amazed that at 70 I am learning what various body parts are called and how they interact. Jeannine, you have taught me so much anatomy, as well how to calm myself and relax the tight areas. Thanks so much!"
